The 1963 Volkswagen Beetle

In the 1969 movie The Love Bug, the Volkswagen Beetle was the main character. The car is still iconic in automotive movie history today. Since the original film, the one-of-a-kind Beetle named Herbie with its blue and red racing stripe has been in numerous adaptations.

The 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT

The original Mad Max put the 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT on the map when the movie came out in 1979. Modifications to the car for the film made it much different than a Ford Falcon off the lot; however, after the movie, Falcons were all over the movie and video game scene.

The 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SW California Spyder

One of the most iconic scenes in movie history is when Cameron’s father’s cherry-red 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder meets its demise in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The scene is so memorable that Alan Ruck, who plays Cameron Rye in the film, appeared in a commercial in 2020 that revisits the scene while advertising garage security.

The DeLorean DMC-12

While only one DeLorean DMC-12 has time-traveling capabilities, the model is undoubtedly recognizable regardless. DeLorean Motor Company went bankrupt in 1982, but no moviegoer will forget the iconic time machine in the 1985 movie Back to the Future.

The James Bond series may be about a legendary spy, but his ride of choice quickly took center stage as well. Ask any James Bond fan what kind of car Mr. Bond drives, and they will tell you all about the 1964 Aston Martin DB5. This car featured prominently in the James bond film Goldfinger.
