What is Screen Time?

Screen time refers to activities performed in front of a screen, such as watching television, working on a computer, or playing video games. It tells you how much time you and your children spend on applications, websites, and other websites.

Recommended Screen Time by Age?

Between the ages of 18 and 24 months, screen use should be limited to educational programs watched with a caregiver. Limit non-educational screen usage for children ages 2 to 5 to around 1 hour each weekday and 3 hours on weekends.

Encourage healthy behaviors and minimize screen-based activities for children aged 6 and up.

What are printable Screen Time tickets?

Printable screen time tickets are sheets of paper that allow a kid to spend a specified amount of time on technology. The tickets can be for a variety of lengths of time.

These free printable screen time tickets are intended to help parents in much more easily imposing boundaries and/or reducing screen time, as well as assisting parents in tracking screen time with the kids. It also reduced Screen Time while avoiding tears and tantrums!

How to use a technology ticket

There are many ways to use technology tickets.  They can be used as part of a reward system for doing great or for doing their homework and you can also impose an equivalent system to motivate them to do good in everything they would do.

These screen time vouchers come eight to a page and have seven different options:

  • 15 minutes
  • 30 minutes
  • 60 minutes
  • 1 show
  • 2 shows
  • 1 movie
  • 2 movies

Setup

The first step is to print off the screen time tickets printable. You may want to laminate the cards so they can be reused over and over again. Or, print the tickets on white cardstock so they are sturdier and easier to play with.

My favorite supplies include printer paper, cardstock, markers, pencils, colored pencils, and a good printer. By keeping these on hand you will be well on your way to enjoying some scree with your kids. Offer some Microwave Popcorn as a post-assignment treat.

Use

How to use:
