The Intern (2015)

Anne Hathaway plays Jules, the CEO of About The Fit, a New York City-based fashion company. In just over a year and a half, she manages to skyrocket a startup from her kitchen into a company ran by hundreds of employees.

The story starts when Jules hires a 70-year-old widower as an intern, with who she ends up creating a strong friendship. Another thing we love about this movie? The fact that Jules is a mom and her husband a stay-at-home dad, who, for a change, gave up his career to care for their daughter.

Boss quote: “It’s 2015, are we really still critical of working moms?”

Erin Brockovich (2000)

Played by Julia Roberts in this biographical movie, Erin Brockovich is an unemployed single mom who, in desperation to find work to support her three kids, winds up getting a job as a legal assistant at a law firm. Through several plot twists, she ends up uncovering a humongous case, and well, the rest is history.

This movie is extremely inspirational, especially if you’re currently feeling lost and unsure where to go next. Through hard work and dedication, Erin Brockovich proves to us all that we can be whoever we want to be in life, no matter our past.

Boss quote: “If you follow your heart, if you listen to your gut, and if you extend your hand to help another, not for any agenda, but for the sake of humanity, you are going to find the truth.”

Joy (2015)

From struggling single mom to CEO of a million-dollar household company, Joy tells the story of Ms. Mangano (played by Jennifer Lawrence), a single mother working as a booking agent who comes up with a breakthrough invention — a self-wringing mop.

Through betrayals, adversaries, and tricky business deals (all of which are brand terrain new to her), she manages to build her business all the way to the top.

Boss quote: “We got here from hard work, patience, and humility. Don't think the world owes you anything because the world owes you nothing.”

And that’s the list of my current favorite boss babe movies! Not only are they super inspiring, but they’re also the perfect way to cozy up and take a much-needed break after working like crazy all week.
